Mapleford Nursing Home

We specialise in the care of those with mental health difficulties such as Alzheimer’s and other forms of Dementia. We also cater for people with complex needs. The philosophy of care that we apply in the home is the belief that by developing an atmosphere of individual care and attention for our residents, it will contribute to their well-being and comfort, enabling them to enjoy their life to its full potential..

Meeting the Team

Julie Hammond is the Registered Manager and she does hold an open door policy. The team are aware of family and work commitments; therefore they we will meet with potential guests and their families at their convenience. As staff become part of the residents wider family and friends circle they will escort any guests to any planned appointments, if family are unable to do so and they will arrange all external professional appointments internally where ever necessary. When a new resident arrives they will be met by their key carer, who will give them a guided tour of their new home. they will also discuss meal times and menus, activities and introduce them to some of the other residents and members of staff. When a new resident joins us, we make getting to know them and their relatives a top priority. This helps us to build a picture of how they would like to be supported day to day, so we can create a personalised care plan.

Visitors are welcome at any time, whether that’s for a coffee, a catch-up or to take part in an activity. Family and friends are encouraged to join for meal times too, especially at the start of the resident's stay.
