The Hamiltons Care Home

When a new resident arrives they will be met by their key carer, who will give them a guided tour of their new home. they will also discuss meal times and menus, activities and introduce them to some of the other residents and members of staff.

When a new resident joins us, we make getting to know them and their relatives a top priority. This helps us to build a picture of how they like to be supported day to day, so we can create a personalised care plan.

Visitors are welcome at any time, whether that’s for a coffee, a catch-up or to take part in an activity. Family and friends are encouraged to join for meal times too, especially at the start of the resident's stay.

Meeting the Team

Ashleigh Leech is the Registered Manager and she does hold an open door policy. The team is aware of family and work commitments; therefore they we will meet with potential guests and their families at their convenience.

As staff become part of the residents wider family and friends circle they will escort any guests to any planned appointments, if family are unable to do so and they will arrange all external professional appointments internally where ever necessary.

Accommodation

The Hamilton’s is located on Hamilton Street, Atherton and is close to all local amenities. The Hamilton’s is a friendly and welcoming care home, offering residential and dementia care.

The home is bright and vibrant with colourful furnishings.

The homes lovely caring team creates a family atmosphere with lots of laughter.

We do offer a hairdressing service, which gives individual service users the opportunity to be pampered and have a chat with one another.

Activities

Listening to our residents is one of the most important things we do each day, so that we can truly get to know them. We explore people’s different characters, likes and dislikes and we always pay special attention to people’s stories because places filled with stories and warmth are places that everyone is happy to call home. Another way we can help our residents to feel at home is for them to do familiar things. So our dedicated specially trained Activities Coordinators gently encourage residents to carry on doing things they enjoy. If someone had a hobby or pastime they did before they arrived, we will encourage them to continue it with us. Or perhaps they may like to learn something new as we have a number of activities that run across all the services from gardening, to reading clubs, cooking, day trips, film days, drawing, painting, singing and dancing. We have activities throughout the week such as arts and crafts as well as games of bingo each week with amazing prizes. We pride ourselves in keeping our service users as active as possible with them often walking round the local area, or visiting local community centres for activities and games, as well as visiting the seaside for fish and chips!

The home is run and overseen by the Registered Manager

All staff who work within the home have a passion for the care industry and are fully dedicated to providing a high level of care and support for those residing here. All staff are fully trained in all aspects of care including Dementia Training.

The staff aim to create a service which is homely, with a family feel and expectations are high. The location of the office enables residents to approach any of the managerial staff anytime and ensures they are involved in day to day activities and conversations. They take particular pride with nutrition and hydration which enables our residents not to have to rely on medication for anxieties.

Ashleigh is a long standing member of the Krinvest Care Group, she has a passion for care and quality and an extensive knowledge base, in 2019 she was awarded an overall Good CQC rating.
